All across Vermont, sugar makers are boiling right now. It’s a sweet and short season, but the fruit of the farmers’ labor lasts all year as people get to enjoy syrup.
There is a new bottle being made at Leader Evaporator in Swanton that celebrates the season, decorated with art by Vermonter Kathleen Berry Bergeron. There are three scenes: tapping, gathering and boiling. These decorative bottles will be seen by thousands as Leader sells the bottles to distributors who then fill them with syrup and sell them in stores around the country and beyond.
